Synopsis[]
THE YEAR 1931. As the Flying Pussyfoot races toward New York with a shocking incident transpiring onboard, another ruckus is afoot behind the scenes. As dawn approaches, various factions congregate near the river and wait for the train to cross the bridge. Among them are Lemures standing by for contact from the train, and Jacuzzi’s friends preparing to retrieve the stolen cargo. Meanwhile, an all-girl gang of bandits is plotting a new train robbery, and a boy has just run away from home. At first glance, they may seem unconnected, but their paths are about to converge into familiar chaos…

- This novel is a revised update of the gaiden novel 193X The Time Of the Oasis, which was originally released in three parts between March 26, 2008 and May 28, 2008 in conjunction with DVD volumes 6–8 of the 2007 anime adaptation. According to author Ryohgo Narita, the light novel is almost exactly the same as the gaiden novel with the exception of the added Extra Chapters.
- Narita decided to revise the gaiden novel into book form so it could serve as an important preface to the succeeding novel 1935-C The Grateful Bet, which features several characters from the gaiden. He has admitted to feeling embarrassed when he revisited the gaiden on account of its five-years-old prose.
- A month prior to Volume 20's released marked the ten year anniversary of The Rolling Bootlegs, as celebrated by Narita in Volume 20's afterword.
