A narrator discusses how the Young Conductor always wanted to make people happy and enjoyed meeting new people as a conductor. The Rail Tracer

"It felt like, of all the people I've seen up till now, she had the darkest shadow. I thought maybe she'd never smiled, not once in her entire life. As a conductor, I decided I was going to make that girl smile during this trip, for sure. I think she'd be prettier if she smiled, personally. So today, I plan to work even harder than usual." - The Young Conductor about Chané Laforet
